The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Lantern Festival, is an important traditional festival celebrated in China and even many countries in Asia. The fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month is the day when the moon is the brightest and roundest. Lanterns are an integral part of this festival, symbolizing the reunion of family and loved ones.
To celebrate this festival, many companies and communities hold lantern-making activities, and Limee is no exception. In order to welcome the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day and enhance team cohesion and creativity, Limee held a lantern-making activity. Some colleagues signed up to participate in the event, mostly women.
The process of making lanterns is neither easy nor difficult. Generally, we choose red and yellow lanterns as they are considered auspicious colors, but of course there are other colorful lanterns. Other materials are also needed, such as bamboo sticks, glue, LED lights, ropes, etc. After preparing the materials, we patiently followed the step-by-step instructions. Colleagues communicated and helped each other, and the lanterns were quickly completed.
Each participant can use their imagination in the lantern making activity. They can experiment with different patterns, colors and shapes to make their lanterns truly unique. Some may choose a simple design, while others may challenge themselves to create intricate patterns or even carve figures onto the lantern. The possibilities are endless.
In the process of making lanterns this time, one of our colleague chose dragon dancing lanterns. As we all know, "dragon" occupies a very important position in the hearts of us Chinese people. We Chinese people call ourselves "descendants of the dragon", and the emperor calls himself the "true dragon emperor". The dragon is also regarded by everyone as "Head of all beasts".
